The US 36 North Foothills corridor—connecting Boulder to Lyons—is a vital, breathtaking regional lifeline. Over 52,000 cyclists ride this corridor on average annually and 13 have died or have been seriously injured by vehicle collisions over the last decade. The usage of this corridor will increase with more cars, trucks, pedestrians and cyclists. Separate infrastructure for motorized and non-motorized will save lives. The project will occur in 4 Segments, beginning with the the first segment from Broadway to Longhorn Rd. A critical segment where over 50% of the deaths and injuries occur.

The North Foothills Bikeway will be a separate feature that greatly increases cycling safety and motor-free access to trails and connections to popular cycling routes. This road has more fatal crashes between cyclists and motorized vehicles than any other road in unincorporated Boulder County. We are proud to support a project that provides a dedicated, safe route, saving lives and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
